Why are you complaining about a practice which has been traditional
in English cities for the past 200 years or more?

Are you some sort of communist agitator who does not believe in
traditional English values including traditional English
free market capitalism?

That only happens in an area where there is no demand for houses. I'm not
surprised you're ashamed to say where you live.

Only a few quid more will get you a Freesat box. With a Freesat

everything is taken care of for you, including your region.

Funny how so many people in allegedly "poor" areas have enough
money to donate

Remember what they used to say?

What do you find on the back of a Sky dish?

A council house.

What goes round comes round I suppose.

He's right though. No matter how hard up, people have to have Sky and,
of course, the latest smart phone.

We have had to carry out surveys of aerials and dishes several times
over the years. Social housing estates often seem to have far more Sky
subscribers than they really have, because the churn on tenancies can be
very high (especially on flats) and often the dishes are not connected
to anything, or are feeding a Freesat box or an old Skybox with no card.
I recently concluded that one particular estate had Sky penetration of
only 20%. That's lower than the proportion of houses with a wage earner.

The highest Sky penetration is amongst the rich. I'd put it at 95%.

I'm an exception. No Sky and no money. Is that a double negative?

You could be right, especially now with Freesat available. I suppose
that people [me anyway] assume that if you have a dish then you have Sky.

Freesat-from-Sky has been available for years. I paid GBP 150 for it a
number of years ago; a number of my relatives have done the same thing.
Our area had no Freeview at all until switchover, and even now we get
only 18 or so channels. I've _never_ paid Uncle Rupert for a subscription.
