Freeview Guide Plus+ EPG
 

Does anyone have this working correctly and downloading extra information
from RadioTimes (in addition to the regular Freeview EPG information)? I
have a Panasonic TV which uses their own version of Guide Plus+ but it
should still receive the same RadioTimes data. It appears to download
correctly at 0310, 0910 and 1510 each day, displaying the RadioTimes logo on
the EPG and an extra Highlights item in the EPG search menu, but there are
no highlights nor any of the adverts which caused much anger with Panasonic
in the past. I tried posting on Digital Spy and AV Forums but it seems
nobody knows (or cares). I also tried Panasonic support but they are a waste
of time. I don't think it offers much anyway but I am curious to know if
anyone has it working as claimed by Panasonic and Guide Plus+.

I noticed that the adverts aren't there anymore - doesn't bother me
though B-) I did check that my postcode was still OK.

Maybe the stream it "listens to" is no longer present (I'm on Sandy
Heath and we're still missing Sky News Text on 108 after 2 DSO and one
minor shuffle retunes).

I rarely use the Panny EPG because it mutes the sound and you have to
press "i" to get the details for each programme, I normally use the
Toppy with MyStuff to browse what's on (i.e. not much!).

I've not seen the adverts on my panasonic for a few months now. It just
says Viera but there is a Radio Times logo in the banner at the top of
the screen. I'm on Waltham and we've just gone through DSO but no change
to the EPG.

I'd wondered why there seemed to be a sound like a relay click inside
the set about 0910 when in standby I guess that is what it is up to..

I find it frustrating that it "moves away" from the channel you are
watching when you go to the epg. Everything else I own puts the TV
channel in a small window while you visit the EPG.
