I was given a long random password so that I could check and modify my account if necessary. I entered the username/password and received a reply that the password was too simple and not secure enough! Judging by info on their site they are not reluctant to hand out very large fines to those who break Dutch telecommunication laws. It does work very well. After I first registered the number of cold calls dropped to a few a year It's time there was something similar in UK or is there already? http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/ Z |

Perhaps because they are run by the direct marketing industry to the benefit of the direct marketing industry? About a month after I registered (years ago, now) my cold calls dropped right off. Further, the rare cold callers I do get now, hang up like startled weasels when I ask for their company name, and say I'll complain to the TPS. BugBear |

A lot of UK cold calls originate outside of the UK where there are far more English speakers than Dutch speakers available to man call centres. A quick Google reveals that Dutch speakers in the Far East are mainly found among middle classes lawyers and administrators. Victor http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/ Z |
