Touch of irony there.
Craigkelly completes DSO tomorrow which will restore ITV signal strength and give us HD for the first time. So I'm off round the old ladies retuning furiously first thing in the morning. |

Does anyone know the detailed countdown? When and how often will captions appear on analogue TV? When will the actual switch-off take place? Will there be anything to see on the digital multiplexes? And will there be any special event to mark the occasion? Countdown clock? Speech by Alex Salmond? Jackie Bird? Billy Connolly? When should the single malt be at the ready? |

When should the single malt be at the ready? Always. In future whisky must be measured digitally, using the traditional "fingers". -- Peter Duncanson (in uk.tech.digital-tv) |

Well, for BBC 2 Black Hill last week, the Beeb's continuity announcer stumbled her way through an announcement:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hhy2KpM2HSk BBC Wales for the end of BBC 1 was a far more slick affair:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Er4UyIqC2s4 -- Mark Please replace invalid and invalid with gmx and net to reply. www.paras.org.uk |

I assume the Scottish announcement was only seen by analogue viewers in Central Scotland for the same reason. |

On second thoughts, if the announcement went out on digital as well, I assume there is a single multiplex for Scotland so it would be seen by all the viewers in Scotland, so I see what you mean. |
