Quick iPlayer Desktop query

Not really. The race lasted for many hours because of the weather. There
was a two hour break and many laps run behind the safety car.

The one hour highlights show seems to be available he

I had worked out roughly what the problem was with the race.

The main thing I was trying to work out was why the second part was
available before the first part, and the download option was not immediately
available.
Have now downloaded part 2; part 1 is now playable but not downloadable.
Just seems an illogical way to run a service.
