OTish: BBC2 last night
Hi,
On BBC2 last night I kept noticing two small white bars with a black block in between appearing near the top left of the screen. This happened during Horizon, Genius, and maybe another programme. Can someone tell me what they are for? -- (\__/) M. (='.'=) Due to the amount of spam posted via googlegroups and (")_(") their inaction to the problem. I am blocking some articles posted from there. Cue Marks? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cue_mark They do look like cue marks but I don't understand why they would be displayed near the beginning of a programme and for such a long period (a few minutes at a time). -- (\__/) M. The Beeb tend not to use cue dots these days, modern automation systems, and 'transparent' internal signaling methods are used these days. However, I think they do use cue dots to indicate when a standby or reserve circuit is in use, so that might explain the lingering presence. Were you watching on analogue, Freeview, or satellite out of interest ? |

Were you watching on analogue, Freeview, or satellite out of interest ? I was actually watching on analogue (no freeview here). -- (\__/) M. ... Analogue or Digital reception? Anyone remember the old fault on TVs where the top of the screen folded down and the pulse and bar and other test signals and teletext interfered with the picture? Back in the old valve days of course. Brian -- Brian Gaff - Note:- In order to reduce spam, any email without 'Brian Gaff' in the display name may be lost. Blind user, so no pictures please!
