Some FTA Channels Breakup
I have a long standing issue with my mothers satellite service (not mine
which is fine). On certain FTA channels eg Bliss, Scuzz, True Movies 1,2 and some others the picture breaks up... Clubland TV is fine as are most of the others we have a SKY + HD box hence why we have Biss, Scuzz etc in our program guide. Other people on the same estate do not have this problem, do you have any ideas why this occurs? |

Is the downlead in good condition? Are all connections secure? |

Just to clarify: "on the same estate" so, does your mum's TV come straight from her own dish or is it from a central distribution system that feeds all the other people, too? -- http://www.thisreallyismyhost.99k.or...9273326673.php |

Its a communal system but there maybe more then one dish as is often the case. |

You might then find that there is no breakup on normal viewing and the problem has shifted to recordings. -- Graham. %Profound_observation% |

There is only one feed at my mothers place, I have two feeds at my place but then I have only just had the installation work done and my mothers flat was built in 1999/2000. |

Well then it has to be cables or customer gear or interference then, otherwise everyone using the same feed would have the same problems. They probably have. We often get one person complaining when the fault affects a hundred. Bill |

Sounds like all channels on Eurobird not Astra 2 which is positioned nearly half a degree different, so i would guess your dish needs shifting about a degree over. "needs shifting about a quarter of a degree degree over." Or did you use ALT + 0188 and it didn't work? Which I don't suppose it would, but here's proof: ¼+¼+¼+¼+¼=1¼. Bill |

(that was 'quartered' not 'a farthing'. OK that would be beyond most of you, since the median age of this group appears to be about 30. Anyway, this is getting silly. I'd better go down to that cold dark workshop and get something done. Sunday afternoon and I'm working! Never mind the barmy music will be on BBC LIncs from 3pm.) Bill |
