Maybe not on IRS installs but surely some of the house installations don`t bother to install a wallplate. True enough but proper TV systems are done to a higher standard. You have to remember that when the resident moves out the room's going to look just charming for the next person with some 'orrible wires hanging down the wall. Well I guess they were thinking this cable has to go there and that was the main objective, making it look nice was not on the agenda after they had spent two and a half hours getting the cable to the right spot. If all they had to do was install a wallplate I am sure I would have had the nicest looking wallplate ever.- Hide quoted text - Spending two and a half hours on a job is nothing. It is a small part of a normal day. If they weren't doing that they'd be doing something else. I've seen some incredible short-cut-taking in my time on communal TV systems, but I've never seen a system installed without wallplates. I'm actually rather staggered by this, and wonder if there's more to this than you are telling us, because I've never heard of anyone doing this. Bill |

Here http://user.itl.net/~nlel/cable.JPG is a photo of the trunking showing the 2 feed cable sticking out from the bottom of it... at the end of the cable there are two f connectors going into my Sky + HD Box there is no wallplate installed or wallplate box |

It's unique! Bill |

... Maybe the housing people agreed to it. It's unique! Maybe they have a vested interest in keeping people connected the the SMATV system therefore only allow the installer to put in satellite feeds. Either that or they were just cutting corners and/or in a hurry to get away. |

"Nick Le Lievre" wrote in message ... All went well (had the route the cable along the air vent) although I was surprised when they just left me with a cable going down the wall in stick on trunking which has two f connectors on the end of it which goes straight into the SKY HD Box, and no new aerial or FM port so basically a TV SAT & FM wallplate has not been installed... I am right on the end of the cabling... oh well only need to use the Satellite connection anyway and that works ok, it took them 2hr 30mins so I should be charged £ 150. Hi, Congratulations! I hope you enjoy it very much and get a lot of fun, pleasure and viewing / listening from it. Best wishes, News Reader --- news://freenews.netfront.net/ - complaints: --- |

Yeah I guess it is... oh well at least I have the two satellite feeds I really wanted and have a much improved picture and the ability to use my Sky + HD box and viewing card it was worth £ 150 even if they haven`t done a professional finish. |
