No wallplate? Bloody hell! Never heard of that before.

No wallplate, I only have the two f connectors on the end of the cable.
Not really bothered as I only need the satellite connection anyway but
it would of been nice to have a new aerial and FM port.

All went well (had the route the cable along the air vent) although I was
surprised when they just left me with a cable going down the wall in stick
on trunking which has two f connectors on the end of it which goes straight
into the SKY HD Box, and no new aerial or FM port so basically a TV SAT & FM
wallplate has not been installed...

How do you get two F connectors on the end of a cable? I can hear the
sound of the Indians a-coming...

No wallplate! I've never, ever, heard of such a thing.

Maybe not on IRS installs but surely some of the house installations don`t
bother to install a wallplate.

I suppose if I got an F connector to coax adapter I should be able to
receive a TV signal from one of the feeds Not that I would sacrifice a sat
feed to do this but it could prove that the cable is carrying the TV signal
as well.

That's why it's normal to use a wallplate such as this
http://www.screwfix.com/prods/31909/...uplexed-Return

I don't have a wall plate fitted at home in the lounge, but that's because I
have 4 separate cables rather than one (or two) combined ones. In an
communal installation where it is more common to have a more frequent
changeover of dwelling occupants, fitting a labelled wallplate and fitting
fly-leads is the proper way to do the job.

Yeah I would of thought a wallplate would have been installed as standard
but I guess it was a bit of a rush job and they did as much as they could
get away with thinking that I would not need the aerial as I would be using
satellite and have an existing coax socket anyway.

True enough but proper TV systems are done to a higher standard. You
have to remember that when the resident moves out the room's going to
look just charming for the next person with some 'orrible wires
hanging down the wall.

Well I guess they were thinking this cable has to go there and that was
the main objective, making it look nice was not on the agenda after they
had spent two and a half hours getting the cable to the right spot. If
all they had to do was install a wallplate I am sure I would have had
the nicest looking wallplate ever.
