Delay for Freesat/BBC I-player upgrade for Panasonic TVs.

Recently I commented on the lack of upgrade for Panasonic Freesat TV set
promised for end of July.
Have just recieved information from Panasonic.

"....: In response, unfortunately the planned update for the BBC iplayer
service for Panasonic Freesat televisions and Diga Blu-ray recorders has
been delayed. We sincerely apologise for this delay but stress that this is
due to further testing being required to ensure that it meets Panasonic's
high production standards. We thank you for your patience in this
matter....."

So now have no idea when.

Regards
David

Yet my cheap £67.00 Bush HD Freesat receiver has been working happily for
months with iplayer, it almost sounds like another case of a major
manufacturer not adhering to the original specification.

More likely they've done something like strip the hardware to the bare
minimum only to find they can't squeeze the iPlayer functionality onto the
platform.

I got a similar reply from Sony regarding an internet content update.
