BBC internet fallen over?

Trying to use iPlayer on the Wii hangs (I have to turn off the Wii
using the switch on the box - clearly a bug in the iPlayer program).
BBC news website says "Service Unavailable".

Someone else asked elsewhere, at that time it was ok for me, but since
then I've had a few "unavailable" messages and a few other people
mentioning the same too ...

Yes its not working reliably. I have had loads of problems with mobile
pages this week too. Infact I have dumped the BBC mobile news site for
SkyNews, because the BBC one was saying "Service Unavailable" all the time.

Is this why my promised update for my Panasonic Freesat TV to do BBC
i-player as not happened?
I know a couple of days left in July but the update was to be July, I was
told in the NG here.
It is an automatic update over the air I presume, or a message given to tell
me to connect to the Internet for it.
Anyone in the know as to what is happening?
Regards
David

The BBC has nothing to do with Panasonic software updates.

Really, it is on their Text service via Freesat, also are they not behind
Freesat.
Boxes and Sony TV sets already updated I think.
Are others with Panasonic not updated, best to know before I contact
Panasonic on 1st. August.

David

Let me be more explicit. Problems with the BBC's internet service
have nothing to do with the availability of Panasonic software
updates, because the BBC doesn't distribute the updates. Panasonic
distribute them from their own web servers and over the air.

Panasonic gave different dates for iPlayer Freesat support for different
models. 2010 models already have it; I don't know about earlier ones.
