Virgin media V+ box

My Virgin Media V+ box annoyingly refuse to permanently delete a recorded
programme. One programme (recorded 23 May and first deleted soon
afterwards) keeps on reappearing on the list of recorded programmes. Can
anything be done to remove it permanently? Is this something I'll have to
put up with? Is it an indication of something else wrong with the box?

Thanks.

Mine does this too. Only one show (Tenko, broadcast Nov. 2008!). In
the "Viewed / Recorded" column, it shows "Now", which suggests to me
that the box had some sort of seizure whilst it was being recorded and
something went amiss, tricking it into thinking it is continually
recording. It hasn't impinged on the functionality of the box
otherwise though.

I suspect that the cure would be to do a full reset or format or
whatever the command is, but I haven't tried this as I don't want to
loose my other recordings just yet.

Thanks David.

Whilst football and tennis is on (and we don't want these) the programmes we
want to see and the amount which is actually recorded is greatly reduced so
little or nothing would be lost by doing a factory reset. I would suggest
taking a note of the scheduled recordings as an aide memoire when resetting.

There is an Ethernet socket on the rear panel. Would it be possible to
connect to a computer? I wonder if the hard disk can be interrogated? Can
it be done / has it been done?

As far as I am aware, the ethernet port would be for broadband
provision, but really, I have no idea of the finer points of the box
other than it's a Scientific Atlanta device (well, mine is, yours
might not be).

Sorry. Maybe a search of the digitalspy forums might turn something up.
