Is it possible to download a test card to copy onto a DVD and show if the
television is set up correctly? If so a link to the source would be appreciated. Thanks. Bill R |

You can download "the" testcard in photoshop format from some deeply buried part of the BBC commissioning website, but you need to extract it from within the layers and adjust the colour levels and burn it DVD yourself. You didn't mention HD, so if SD is ok, this is useful http://merifon.altervista.org/TestDVD.html For more individual test patterns http://www.w6rz.net/ |

Bill R Some DVDs such as "Toy Story" have set up sections in the "extras" including test cards etc. Also, it is possible to display a Freeview test card using a cryptic set of keys on your Freeview remote (see link below). http://www.techwatch.co.uk/forums/25...-testcard.html This is only SD of course. Have you a THX DVD such as Star Wars there are set ups within the extra features. Hard to find , click on the THX logo I seem to think that will bring them up. Regards David |

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember "Bill R" saying something like: Is it possible to download a test card to copy onto a DVD and show if the television is set up correctly? If so a link to the source would be appreciated. Easy to make your own and lob it on disc: http://www.oodletuz.fsnet.co.uk/soft/tcmaker.htm Here's some ready made ones: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=f...d8eb 2fe32c8a |

What is wrong with the standard Freeview one? Tune to a BBCi on Ch.105 & wait for all the text to load. Press "yellow", then tune to any other BBC channel, eg. BBC-1. Go back to BBCi on Ch.105 & wait for all text to load again. Press "green": the page should respond with "Secret" on the top right. Wait for the screen to update with the status page, then press "green" as instructed at the bottom of the page. Slightly modified BBC Test Card W should appear within 30sec. -- Kennedy Yes, Socrates himself is particularly missed; A lovely little thinker, but a bugger when he's ****ed. Alternatively, why not download TCM and make on yourself. TCM is at http://www.oodletuz.fsnet.co.uk/soft/tcmaker.htm and a few standard test cards are at http://www.oodletuz.fsnet.co.uk/tcd/index.htm I wouldn't rely on these samples being accurate replicas but they are certainly good enough for checking geometry etc. and you can easily personalise them or fix any inaccuracies yourself. -- Kennedy Yes, Socrates himself is particularly missed; A lovely little thinker, but a bugger when he's ****ed. No info for terrestrial TV but... If you have a satellite receiver there is usually a test card to be found somewhere or other. A reliable one has been on Hotbird 6, tp 12539 H. It is shown in the Lyngsat listing greyed out as (ERTU feeds) Comes up as feed my receiver channel list, displays a testcard with the logo 'EGYPT'. |
