typical price to run cables from dish...
yes i know i should do it for them but....
my parents have a sky dish on the side of their house from when i lived there - a quad lnd, 2 feeds into my old bedroom. they now have a tv with integrated freesat - what would be the non rip off price an installer should charge them to tack a cable from the dish into their living room? think they've only asked one so far who says £50.... -- Gareth. that fly...... is your magic wand.... http://dsbdsb.mybrute.com you fight better when you have a bear! |

Although I wouldn't do the work for 50 quid, the price quoted seems reasonable. -- Cheers Peter |

That presumably includes driving to their house as well as doing the work. Can you find anybody who'd come out for significantly less? -- From KT24 Using a RISC OS computer running v5.16 |

If you mean a 'fireguard' or 'grid' aerial they are inherently wideband. The low band story sounds like an excuse for a crap system to me. Why would anyone use a Gp A aerial in Norwich when Taccy is Gp E or CD? I suppose you could be on the Norwich relay, which is Gp B. In that case you'd be lucky to get any DTT whatsoever. Bill The whole place is a bit of a mess, the spec for the building was drawn up by the developers and is used for all their sites.. A sat dish, a low band antenna and an FM halo which apparently is muxed with the TV signal. I get superb AM reception from the Postwick AM relay (BBC 4, World service, BBC Norfolk and 5 live) so have not had occasion to test the FM side. Good because DTT is marginal and breaks up with some weather conditions. Why the sat dish was only wired to the north side and not both I dont know. The TV antenna just about pokes above the roof top and stares at the only hill in Norwich which just about blocks Taccy... I complained, and was told that I was the only one to do so...
