VHS tape: highly appropriate use

The other morning at dawn the sun was shining though the bedroom
window, right across the bed. I was already awake because I have a
problem with my skin, and it disturbs my sleep. Last week the skin was
at its worse on my fundament. It was very sore and itchy just below
the belt line at the back, and also at various points on my buttocks.
I'd never seen it although I'd certainly felt it, and it occurred to
me that the sunlight would provide a good light for some self-
examination. I went for the bathroom mirror, the portable one on a
stand. I stood the mirror at the side of the bed and put myself in
position on my side on the bed Annoyingly the mirror was a bit too
low, so I searched round for something to lift it up, and found a
boxed VHS cassette from the box on the landing, which will eventually
go to the church fair. With the cassette in place I was able to survey
my bad skin at leisure. When I put the cassette back I was amused to
see that its title was 'Bottom'.

But surely, the ideal answer for this and to help track any treatment, is to
put the tape in the recorder, get a cheap camera on it and record the skin
condition in question for future comparison.

Sometimes I have a sore area on the left side of the scrotum, where it
meets the torso. The penis is completely unaffected. Other areas a
just under the shoulder blades; the backs of the knees; the tips of
the hips; and just inside the nose. It's a real nuisance. It's a
family problem. When my sister was a tiny baby she was so ill with it
she had to stay in hospital for months.

Sorry?

If you have a dermatological problem, why would you not go and see
a dermatologist to get the problem resolved?

I had a similar problem but further south than yours, quite close to a
sinkhole in a steep-sided valley.

The only way I could self examine this area was with the help of a
webcam. I did not have it connected to the internet at the time, at
least I don't think I did!.

Well, I think it was silly and a bit patronising for you to think that
I would have a lifetime medical problem and not do everything possible
to get it fixed. Silly for you to sieze on a light-hearted post and
try to use it to demonstrate your intellectual superiority, or street
cred, or something. Silly for you to look up the dermatologists at RGH
and copy the information here, as if you are the only one in the world
to have access to the internet. And most of all, silly of you to
assume that because I have a Rotherham postal address I use the
Rotherham hospitals, especially RGH. Look, the only efficient part of
RGH is the morgue. It's a ********.

That's an interesting idea. I might set up a stills camera and cavort
naked in front of it. It would need good light though, so I think I'll
do it on the front lawn. I'll do it on Sunday because it's a quiet
day. The light will be best at lunchtime. The ladies will be walking
home from church, but I don't suppose they'll mind.

Catch yourself on old son, make life easier on yourself and avoid
blurred images, just wait for them to come along and then ask one of
the nice ladies to take the pictures for you.

Vitamin D might help, preferably D3 in capsules. You can also often
improve psoriasis (assuming that's the diagnosis) with sunlight
generating the D directly in the skin, but only for some locations

Cheers for that. Will try capsules. Is this a case of needing extra

Basically yes, for various reasons it seems most people are depleted
especially in winter and often also in summer (sunscreen)

You can get mail in tests here

http://www.grassrootshealth.net/

should you wish to

I buy Higher Nature 500iu D3 caps (available from

http://www.thevitaminservice.com/

among other places), they're cheap and I've been supplementing with
two per morning and two per evening for a while. Psoriasis has reduced
to one small patch on one elbow which never quite goes away, and it's
hard to tell what causes what when you're an old fart with diabetes
but this appears to have tuned up my immune system enough that I
missed out on all the various winter bugs while everyone else was
falling ill.

It works nearly as well as eating the exact opposite of what the
dietician told me to eat.
