One place I lived contained a couple of ex-farm cats. These would sometimes bring me presents. Sometimes the presents were actually dead. Especially when their heads were chewed off. The worst was when another tenant's cat came to visit me and went out my window onto the roof. It returned with a bat and presented it to me triumphantly. Unfortunately it was only partly dead :( I think they were having a competition on who could be more gross. |

I work in support for a software company looking after their hardware.
Whenever a staff member comes to me saying "blah blah is wrong" I ignore them and look at their pc for the actual fault, 9 times out of 10 they have blamed the wrong thing entirely. If the end user was aware enough of the item and it's capabilties in the first place , odds are they wouldn't have asked for help. My wife, by example, complained about all the 'wires' behind the tv/bluray/vm+ box, when she came home one day to a blank blue screen saying no signal I said " the wires are gone, isn't that what you wanted?" I can't complain though , it's what makes support folk employable. Never believe the client. --- news://freenews.netfront.net/ - complaints: --- |

"David" wrote in message ... " wrote in message ... The customer had bought a new Sony TV set, then found there was no DTT where he lived. Over the phone I suggested Freesat. He had a look at the back of the set and it had an 'f' input with a satellite symbol. But it didn't have a satellite tuner! There's no suggestion that he'd been mislead because the set wasn't sold as having Freesat, but it's one to watch out for. Certainly is. On my TV sets you can see 'knock out' pieces on the backs to where extra sockets would appear on more featured models, but never have I seen an actual non working socket. Regards David Many boxes come with the same hardware and capability varied by firmware. |

It's very unusual for a maker to add unnecessary parts. -- Adrian It's KDL-37V58XX according to the instructions and 37V5810 on the back of the set. The instructions make no mention of Freesat. Serial 4001909 Date : 10/2009. Bill Page 20 of the use manual says, TV system says Satellite DVB-S/DVB-S2 -- Adrian- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Yes, the problem is that satellite doesn't appear as an option in the 'source' menu. We now suspect that a factory reset and/or a re-tune WITH A DISH CONNECTED is required. Bill Try reading the instructions - cowboy! |

Everyone goes along quite nicely then one demented soul spoils it. Bill |
