When the Sony 32" receives a Freeview SD signal, Does its builtin Freeview receiver also deliver *HD* Freeview? Somewhere I saw a mention of "DVB-T" but not "DVB-T2". (Or does "DVB-T" mean "DVB-T1 & T2" here?) -- /\/\aurice (Replace "nomail.afraid" by "bcs" to reply by email) |

The model in question, the W5500 can only receive SD Freeview, it only has a DVB-T tuner, you need DVB-T2 to receive UK Freeview HD channels. None of the xx5500 range supports DVB-T2. You need one of the current range, EX403 or above (503,703 etc) and 32 inch or above for T2. http://www.sony.co.uk/compare/tv-projector/ (Be careful, I don't think the 26 and 22 inch sets at the bottom of that page do support T2, despite the search filter letting them through ? -- Mark Please replace invalid and invalid with gmx and net to reply. www.paras.org.uk |

Jeez, at those prices I would still go with the xx5500 range and add e.g. a Humax Foxsat HDR PVR to get HD Freesat. (Flat is already equipped with twin satellite feeds.) -- /\/\aurice (Replace "nomail.afraid" by "bcs" to reply by email) |

You could get a 5810 that has HD Freesat built in ? -- Mark Please replace invalid and invalid with gmx and net to reply. www.paras.org.uk |

No, it's only got a single tuner. It does receive HD Freesat broadcasts however. -- Mark Please replace invalid and invalid with gmx and net to reply. www.paras.org.uk |
