e-Motion TVs anyone?
My local Sainsburys have got this 26"TV/DVD combo with USB recording feature
on offer for £200. http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/sol/shop...v=42949601 82 I'm tempted to get one for my holiday home, but have never heard of the brand. Made in Slovakia, apparently. Have any of you bought one - or a similar model of the same brand? I would be very interested in your comments. TIA. -- Cheers, Roger _______ Please reply to Newsgroup. I wonder................. -- Woody harrogate three at ntlworld dot com |

I'm after one of these TVs for my mother, but Sainsbury's are currently out of stock. Quite honestly, this sort of equipment is so reliable these days, I am really not too concerned over its origin. When did anyone last hear of a modern TV going wrong once it has settled down? They try to sell you one of these extended warranties, but they are a total waste of money, especially given the low initial cost of £200. Alan |

When the NIT was split? Doesn't really affect the TV though assuming it accepts an external signal from a set-top box though does it? As a display device it would still work fine! Ideally, if I was buying a new TV I'd prefer one with no tuners built in at all and just a couple of SCART sockets, component inputs and a couple of HDMI's. That would be totally futureproof* * until the next big thing ;-) Cheers, Mike |

That would be totally futureproof* If I ignore the tuner, I've got one exactly like that now. The shops are full of them. There seems hardly any distinction these days between what is sold as a "TV set" and what is sold as a "computer monitor", as they all seem to have the same selection of sockets, and some computers have HDMI outputs, and/or tuners. Just ignore the bits you don't want. What you call it just depends on how you use it. Rod. -- Virtual Access V6.3 free usenet/email software from http://sourceforge.net/projects/virtual-access/ |

Got a 40 inch emotion and have been very pleased with it.
Only problem is I've managed to break the base - any suggestion in where to get a replacement? |

What on earth were you doing to it?
I will say though that recently getting my first small flat screen thingy into this house I'm not impressed by the stands. Obviously the same bodgit and run design teams that produced CRT stands is now designing the flat screen ones. Brian -- From the Bed of Brian Gaff.
