Leader's Debate - sound problems?
ITV1HD Freesat.
Humax Foxsat HDR. Chase-play recording. Listening in stereo. Bad sound at times - like dynamic range compression kicking in and modulating levels when it shouldn't - or maybe just a good old fashioned microphone problem! Did everyone get this, or was it just ITV1HD, or just my STB? Cheers, David. P.S. If we're going to end up with HD versions of the main 4-5 channels, but scattered around the EPG at strange numbers, it's going to be very annoying - they'll have to re-plan the Freesat EPG to put the HD channels together (when they have more than two of them! ;) ) |

However, few weeks ago I watched Hotel Babylon on BBC HD, and the sound quality of the theme music was as bad as I've ever heard, and very much as you describe. I remembered that I was impressed by the sound quality on the original SD broadcast. P.S. It may not be the EPG, but if you press the OK button on the remote, you get the list, and pressing the yellow button gives you just the HD channels. -- Ian |
