Any source for finding new DTVs' EPG capability without buying one?

I found out (too late) that there was a list in Wikipedia which listed
the capabilities of dozens of digital-analog converter boxes. I wish
I'd have seen it before I bought 3 different boxes and found out they
had widely varying EPG guides, ranging from 'the show you're watching
now and the next one' (Insignia) to 'about 24 hours ahead' (Digital
Stream).

I'm just now looking to buy a new 19" HDTV and really want to get one
that has the best available EPG guide, using solely OTA (over the air)
sources. It will not be connected to Sat or Cable.

I ask at the stores and they just give me a look like 'why do you care
about something like that...every has satellite or cable now'. They
could care less, and aren't willing to detach their in-store feeds to
test what an antenna would pull up.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Take your own antenna with you - no, not the house antenna, just a
bow-tie. They'll hook it up.

I'm not sure that's a workable solution. The antennas I use are made
from coat hangers and are pretty unwieldy. I can see it for testing
one set, but I doubt they would allow testing enough sets to see which
was BEST.

19"? Why bother?

The URL I gave you gives makes/models of TVs that have the 8-day
on-screen TV Guide. I doubt if you find it in a 19" model.

Good luck.

What's an EPG guide?

Would that be an electronic program guideguide?

Yeah and an ATM machine and an RV vehicle and my favorite, "built on
New Technology technology". I find Yahoo TV listings to be far more
useful and MUCH quicker to load and at least as accurate, probably
better.
