Yep again. *Packed it in a few weeks ago. *Predictable, when they let
go the best support tech ever. ...

Unemployed tech here too, thus the recycled PC and cheap tuner.

Anyway, their tuners cost 5X what I paid for mine.

That was obvious in the post to which I responded;-)

I listed what I have as the bare minimum, not as a recommendation. It
only works because I can tinker with it. Get something better.

Both members of this household record TV. *...

I recorded everything I liked starting around 1985 and have the
equivalent of 5 or 6 copy paper boxes of VCR tapes, of which I've
watched fewer than 20 more than once and most never.

But tastes in entertainment vary, yours are undoubtedly different from
mine. For example I've been downloading Kim Richey's music videos. Who
else has even heard of her?

Yep! The overlapping set of our in home audio or video enjoyment is
narrow. Enough to enjoy a few hours together from time to time. Yours
and my sets might have similar or complete disjointedness. And you're
right, I've not heard of Kim Richey.

Of one thing I am certain though, my own tastes change significantly
as the decades fly by. Some nostalgic items are best left in memory;
digging them out to refresh that one time enjoyment too often leads to
a disappointing awakening.
