... What's the best box for HD pictures via satellite please? It depends if you want to record with it. If so, I've been pleased with the Humax Foxsat HDR. The software is rather clunky, to be honest, although I understand its competitors are even more so. SteveT |

Decent Freesat HD Box
Humax Foxsat HDR. *The software is rather clunky, to be honest, although I understand its competitors are even more so. The Sagem has simpler usage and menu structure and is good if you dont want loads of facilities although it is a bit more "plasticky". On direct comparison, the HD pic is not quite as good though. The Technisat HDFS produces superb pictures and in direct comparison, almost better than the Humax and the SD pics are excellent. It is a basic single tuner box but you can plug a portable hard-drive into it to make it a pretty good PVR which will record direct from the full Freesat EPG. (Remember..single tuner though). It also makes a very good multi-satellite box if you switch it out of Freesat mode and it works with Disec switching. |
