good to see Humax are updating fairly regular. My HDR standby problem was
cured at the last one 13 Jan..or was it the one before.

Hear, hear! My 9200 goes unresponsive for no clear reason even when just
playing back a recording.

Yes it's the playing back of recordings which causes problems for my
9200 and has done ever since version .21 of the software was downloaded
a couple (or possibly three) years ago. And if you are playing back a
recording and trying to use the subtitles, then forget it - they slow
down, lag behind the picture and eventually freeze :(

I'm puzzled. I've had my Humax 9200 for about 9 months, with no
problems at all. Bought direct from Humax, IIRC as a reconditioned
machine, and certainly not their latest model because I had the
impression from this NG that the 9300 wasn't thought to be as good.
Just occasionally when using subtitles, they do get a bit behind, but
I've only ever known the machine to go very slow and unresponsive when
I've pressed too many buttons in rapid sequence. But even then, it
sorts itself out after a few seconds.

Same here.

Apart from occasional complete lock-ups, which can happen at any
time, I find mine can lag a considerable number of seconds behind
the remote during the first few minutes after switching on, I
assume this has to do with using its resources on populating the
EPG.

Either - not going to bother as they do not know why there are problems,
Or - too many people are buying replacements and they think an update
of 9200 software may reduce sales.
Or - it is taking a long time to sort it all out and they spent a lot
of time telling people that there was nothing wrong anyway or to just do
a reset.

Interesting to learn in this thread of a few people with problems. This
has been a bit hidden lately. I do not think they know what to do - one
of mine has been back for fixing and it came back OK but then trouble
broke out again.

When first switched on there is a period of doing what they are told to
for about a minute but later they can lock up at any time.

We switch on here automatically and leave for 30 minutes before any
serious use is made of the boxes. This worked well for 6 months but has
gone to pot recently. This allows the EPG to be loaded as well.

When playing back the biggest problem is due to the operator not pausing
when changing from x2 to x 4 to x 16 playback forwards or backwards. If
this is the case you are likely to find a playback at x 16 on screen
with a x 2 indicated on the lower display and a refusal to stop. Always
in trouble with stops on fast wind. But stop seems to have a priority
so it happens within a sensible time say 1 minute and then you can
always go back to where you where without problems - it is as if the
stop resets something.

It is about time they gave us a fix or two.

Anyone see the OA upgrade scheduled to appear please post here in this
thread so that it can be caught by as many as have been concerned. In
some cases there has not been much warning.
