Sky+ HD Connections

This is a bit complicated but would appreciate some help

I have Sky plus HD with HDMI connected to TV
I have just purchased a LG HT253DD DVD receiver which has better
speakers than the TV so I have connected it to the SKY + via Scart (no
HDMI and only one scart socket)) and have run SCART to TV for DVD

TV
HDMI to Sky+ (for HD)
Scart to Sky+ (for DVD)

Sky+
HDMI to TV (for HD)
Scart to TV (to route through DVD)
Scart to DVD

DVD
Scart to Sky+

But the SCART is taking precedence over the HDMI and SKY+ and HDMI
input has to be selected each time from the TV whenever something
chages or is turned off/on.

The DVD cannot go direct to the TV as it loses the TV sound
SKY+ loses the DVD if I don't run the SCART fron the SKY+ to TV

Is there anything I can do to prevent the SCART grabbing the
limelight.

there's a certain wire in the scart lead that controls switching - so you
could cut it - but then it will never work.
many tvs have a ' scart control on / off ' type option in their setup.

Turn off "SCART switching" in the Sky+HD menus! That's what I have done
and it all works prefectly.

Assuming the LG is a dvd player with surround sound speakers attached.
Don't even bother with scart. Connect the Sky+HD box to the LG with an
optical cable. This way you will also hear dolby digital 5.1 audio when
available.

Or (just googled LG HT253DD) 2.1 in your case.
