Pace PVR3 PSU voltages?
Got a faulty one, stuck in standby and the power LED looks rather dim,
does anyone know what voltages the PSU should be providing? It doesn't respond to the reset tricks, the HDD tests OK in a PC. -- Clint Sharp |

writes I can't comment on the TV Tuner and the amplifier parts of the circuits (at least not with up-to-date info for the latter, even supposing I could recall or ferret out anything from the dim and distant past), but digital circuits usually run on 5V There appear to be around 6 voltages coming from the PSU and there are at least three components on the board that look like they may be linear regulators so examination by eyeglass should let me work out the voltages there I suppose. While I can guess what some are by the type numbers of the chips, I'm not going to be able to do that for all of them though, especially tuner/LNB voltages. I suppose I could try and find a working box of the same type but that might be a little difficult at this time of year.. , though IIRC some laptops, perhaps even most nowadays, run on 3.3V. If the HD is of the desktop type, there will also be 12V supply It is and there will be 5v and 12v to check on that connector. -- Clint Sharp |

For the past large number of years most digital circuits run with 3.3V and it is common for many large integrated circuits to run at 1.8V or 1V. -- Alan news2009 {at} admac {dot} myzen {dot} co {dot} uk |
