Oh really, and what is BBC iPlayer and Torrents all about then?

Is Canvas going to provide faster downloads speeds and 1080i at better
quality than Satellite or Freeview (though that wouldn't take much effort)
and DOG **** free?

I have an Apple TV connected to a Virgin basic 10 MB Internet package and
have to say that some of the stuff I view can look very respectable, even on
32" screen, in fact I'm certainly watching increasing amounts of programming
via the Internet. You've only got to read into the unhappy attitudes of Mr.
Murdoch and Mr Beardy towards the growth of Internet TV viewing, to gain
some idea of the fact that they're waking up to the realisation that within
another decade their satellite and cable empires are going to have to face
huge competition from the Internet.. Newspapers and Record stores spring
readily to mind!

Lets hope they don't use things like the BT Vision power line adaptor then,
or nobody will be able to do the highly relaxing hobby of tuning around the
short wave bands.

Of course not, they will start charging for stuff instead and you will only
see crap on Iplayer.

the only way there will be a demand for internet TV is if they broadcast
EVERY program at the times that they advertise and no hide behind some made
up reason for not being able to show it..
