Were the upgraders to digital trying to receive or send digi
channels?!

At least some of it is on topic for a change, but not that interesting.
You still fail to name companies you claim have done a bad job and
which you had to correct I notice.

Ha ha! You really can't believe anyone could be so stupid can you?

These guys were employed by the head office of a large housing association
to convert every one of their systems in the whole country 'to digital'.
This was despite the fact that the local installers in each area (of whom I
was one) had mostly already done any neccessary work over a period of normal
maintenance. This is typical of decisions made by people in far-away London
offices, who seem to act without doing any research or asking the people on
the ground about the true situation. These cowboys went to a lot of my
systems and did unneccessary or (as in this case) totally stupid work. I was
subsequently called out by the regional office to many systems because
tenants were complaining about poor reception. In one case they removed a
perfectly good aerial and replaced it with a totally crap one. At another
scheme they seem to have turned up with an Emley Moor channelpass filter
only to find that the aerial was on Crosspool. Undeterred they screwed the
filter onto the board, connected it up, then disconnected it but left it in
place (I'm guessing some of this but I bet I'm right). I only got involved
because they also disconnected the modulators for the CCTV -- I don't know
why. At another sheltered scheme in a very bad reception area they erected a
huge yellow wideband turd on a stick, but actually kept the existing aerial
(a TC18B) in use! At another they fitted a channel filter between the
masthead amp PSU and the masthead amp (which killed the line power), and
actually cleared off leaving the system dead. That caused the scheme manager
to ring us 'off the record' on the Friday night, so I was able to send a
scathing email to head office (which they ignored).
It's just so annoying when you look after a system for years and then some
ignorant pillock in head office sends some cowboys out, who vandalise your
work. It makes me seethe.

Roger, I'd like to reply in detail to this, privately. Could you send your
name, address, and phone number to my postal address, as found on my
website. I'd very much like to discuss this issue with you. If you aren't
too far away I'll come round to your place if that's all right and try to
explain things to you.

Maybe the local site could do the cowboys for criminal damage. If someone
rolled up and found a working system surely they would apply the if it aint
broke dont fix it and just charge a hefty call out charge and sit in the van
talking about sex all day?

Perhaps you could post a link to some of your own contributions that
are (a) on topic and (b) interesting?

With a short length of two-by-four, one hopes.

Brian,

Can you add to your Blocked Senders list?

There is no really no need to respond to the trolling rubbish the
Tiscalli Idiot scribbles. Bill is well aware of the individual he is
responding to, but that's probably because he is watching headers.
