Total Moronic BBC Scheduling
Who was the MORON at the BBC who decided to schedule the Grand Prix practice
session on BBC1 instead of Merlin and now it's overrunning into Strictly Come Dancing by 15 minutes and it looks like its going to be another ****ing hour before the qualifying session is even going to start because of a rain delay. LIKE WHO **** WAS GOING TO WATCH THIS CRAP TO BEGIN WITH? How many people did the BBC think it was going to get. Merlin get 6 million. Strictly get 9 million. ITS A ****ING PRACTICE SESSION FOR ****S SAKE. IT'S NOT EVEN THE ACTUAL ****ING GRAND PRIX! Why didn't these ****ing morons put it on interactive. Someone tell me how many viewers it got. I doubt it will be over a 1 million. ****ING IMBECILES! |

Why didn't these ****ing morons put it on interactive. Because I suspect F1's contract specifies if must be available on BBC 1 or 2 Someone tell me how many viewers it got. I'm no fan of cars going around in circles, but ITV treated the coverage with very little respect when they held the rights. Anyway, calm down, it's only poxy old TV, not the end of the world. -- Mark Please replace invalid and invalid with gmx and net to reply. www.paras.org.uk |

The BBC seem to have no respect at all for the Saturday evening schedule. It is different almost every week. Regular programmes, like the Lottery[1] and Casualty, are shown at different times every week. Even then they often, as today, do not keep to the schedule. Every day except Saturdays, regular programmes are shown at the same time every week with only occasional deviations from the regular schedule. [1] Which is sometimes a full length show and sometimes just an abbreviated one with just some of the draws shown. |

But I don't understand why the BBC broadcasts the qualifying sessions, in the first place. It strikes me as being a complete waste of resources - that is, licence payers' money. Because AIUI it determines the starting positions for the main race, so normally has a direct effect on the eventual winner. As I say, I find motor racing incredibly tedious, but I do acknowledge it is a combination of engineering, tactical decisions, and driving skill. Therefore it does deserve proper and full coverage. -- Mark Please replace invalid and invalid with gmx and net to reply. www.paras.org.uk |

Fires up Freeguide CTRL+F "Challenges of Life" reveals another showing at 00.55 on the 23rd. Whether this is the signed version I'm not sure. I wrote to my MP after the Wimbledon channel switches, particularly as Local News gets lost to digital viewers. She wrote to the DG, who (as she passed it on to me)obviously sent her the standard script. She then wrote back saying not good enough, I'll be writing to the government. And....... A reply came back hinting that he would instigate an investigation into how regional news might be protected from sport hopping channels. Not quite removing sport from BBC1 scheduled programmes, but the suggestion was also made that maybe BBC3 and BBC4 should be merged to release one, with extended hours, for a BBC Sports channel. Who was the MORON at the BBC who decided to schedule the Grand Prix practice session on BBC1 Actually, it was qualifying. But that's the thing with live coverage, it happens when it happens. So hold on to your hat as tomorrow's race is going to be on at teatime too. instead of Merlin and now it's overrunning into Strictly Come Dancing by 15 minutes and it looks like its going to be another ****ing hour before the qualifying session is even going to start because of a rain delay. I don't think a 15 minute delay on the dancing is going to kill anyone and it was (thank you BBC for not just abandoning the coverage!) transferred over to BBC2 for the rest of the session at that point. LIKE WHO **** WAS GOING TO WATCH THIS CRAP TO BEGIN WITH? Me. How many people did the BBC think it was going to get. Merlin get 6 million. Strictly get 9 million. ITS A ****ING PRACTICE SESSION FOR ****S SAKE. IT'S NOT EVEN THE ACTUAL ****ING GRAND PRIX! No, it was still qualifying. Why didn't these ****ing morons put it on interactive. Yes, that was indeed the place to see the practice sessions and where they were shown earlier in the day and yesterday - so you are spot on there at least. Someone tell me how many viewers it got. I doubt it will be over a 1 million. It usually gets between 4 and 5 million. ****ING IMBECILES! Yes, I really think you are. :-) |
