Hi,

one of the many Freeview STBs I have is an old Panasonic TUCT-30. On
re-tuning, it seemed to work, but it scrambled the LCNs around. Does
anyone know if there is a way of getting the channels to correspond with
the correct LCNs?

I don't know about that particular model, but, in general, if you delete all
the channels and rescan it should sort itself out, unless you are receiving
signals from more than one transmitter, in which case it's a bit more
complicated.

More likely split nit problem.

Split nit???

Have now tried to re-scan after deleting, but still the same problem.
LCNs1-10 or so are ok, the other ones all over the place and different
each time I rescan. There is only one signal as far as I can see. It's
maybe that it's a very old box and can't cope.

I could try to manually get the channels, if thereisa way of doing that
on this box but I'm not sure there is.

NIT stands for Network Information Table. "Split NIT" is a way of organising
the Freeview data that isn't supported by certain older boxes, including
yours.

Apparently there is a software patch that fixes it, but how you can get hold
of it I don't know. See this post:
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...d.php?t=970707

I expect you can download it from somewhere and upload it to your box if you
think it's worth it.

Thanks - yes I have earlier software. It's probably not worth hunting
down the newer version.

That's surprising as I have a Panasonic TUCT-20 which recognises and deal
with the split NIT perfectly. I presume the 30 is younger than my (9 year
old?) 20.

The Panasonic TUCT-20 dealt with the re-tune day better than any of my other
decoders (excepting the newish Panny TX-19LXD8)

Yep. My TUCT-20 had no problem, either. But then it doesn't exactly rush
the updating like those younger boxes!

If you can get the newer, then perhaps you should. My neighbours' old Sagem
IDT62 just stopped working - seems their old firmware isn't up to post 30th
September Freeview. And now that it's hosed, there is no way to upgrade to
the newer stuff even if Sagem were to transmit it.

I have this model and used the 'Auto Setup' option in the tuning menu to
retune. All appears ok.

Latest Softwa
Check out http://www.dtg.org.uk/industry/download_schedule.php
If I remember correctly, the latest software update for the CT30 was
re-transmitted a couple of months ago, so it could happen again.
