Old Sky box and/or Freeview?
Chanel 5 on 105 is scrambled, so without a card you get an on-screen message, but, for reasons that I cannot fathom an unencrypted version is transmitted outside the EPG which again can be tuned as an additional channel (10.773 H 22 5/6 "FIVE") Presumably the "clear" version is the Freesat version of Five, perhaps it doesn't transmit certain programmes when there are rights issues? |

That is indeed the version that appears on Freesat. I haven't noticed any programmes being absent. -- Peter Duncanson (in uk.tech.digital-tv) |

From last week C5 on 105 has been switched to a FTA version and, obviously worked WITHOUT the smartcard! |

Interesting, I wonder if they're doing it one region at a time, here in the north a card is still required. -- ^..^ This is Kitty. I assume the 'South of England' aka Region 2 stream that is being mapped to Sky 105 is the 10773 FTA version, as used for Freesat ? The remaining streams (Regions 1,3,4) that are encrypted are still at 12422, and therefore must remain encrypted as they're on wide beam. http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/skyuk.html -- Mark Please replace invalid and invalid with gmx and net to reply. www.paras.org.uk |
