Hi all,
I hope this is ok to talk about in uk.tech.digital-tv
The advert on ITV several times a day for "Dreams Beds" they continually say
the sale ends "Monday"
Are they varying the prices week to week to back the sale up?
I suppose it must be legal but I would not buy anything from them, which
week is the genuine sale?

Regardless of the "sale" I wouldn't buy anything from a company that
advertises so much. The price is increased just to pay for the
adverts. I rarely watch the commercial channels but if I have no
choice I see "Dream Beds". They are getting to be as annoying as the
endless sofa adverts.

I haven't seen the adverts, but if your description is accurate, then
it might be worth contacting the ASA, or at least making a start by
having a look round their website:

I have a sofa from DFS. Quite good, but as someone said, they need to alter
their name as they are now known as dodgy furniture store.

At least Allied Carpets have gone..

It's now ending 8pm Bank Holiday Monday, bet on Tuesday it'll be
extended!

Hi, Yes its specially extended! but they say "must end next Monday".
A bit like the notice "The world will end tomorrow" nobody believed that
either :-)

I noticed a week or so back a shop in one of the local malls had large
signs in the windows

Permanent (in very small letters)
SALE (in six foot high letters)
Various items - changing regularly (in even smaller letters)
