Help - connection issues with TV, SKY ,DVDR

I'm not having much success with the set up of my tv, sky, dvdr. I
have used all three manuals and called the helplines but they all
blame each other! So far everything works except for recording on the
dvdr. I get sound but no picture?

Sky+
TV = Toshiba model 37XV505D - 2 scart sockets (1) (2)
DVDR = Panasonic DMR ES15 - 2 scart sockets (AV1 tv) (AV2 ext)

Currently connected as follows -

TV (1) scart to SKY (tv scart)
SKY (vcr scart) to DVDR (AV2 ext)
SKY (RF out) to DVDR (RF in)

I can watch SKY, record on to SKY+, watch DVDs ..... I don't trust our
SKY box as it's the second one we have had and the previous had a hard
disc failure and lost all our recodings, hence my need to record on to
DVD to be safe.

Please help!!!!!

Not sure about Sky+, but standard Sky boxes have always had a fault whereby,
when a Pin 8 switching voltage was being sent from a VCR/DVDR into their VCR
SCART, they shut off the video output signal to the VCR, leaving only the
audio.

However, if you're using AV2 on the DVDR, a switching voltage might not be
present in any event. Worth a try though - look for a "TV/DVDR" (or similar)
button on your DVDR remote - press that while recording and see if it fixes
the problem.

Another possibility is that the Sky+ box is outputting Macrovision copy
protection, to prevent you from recording protected content - test this by
recording from a news channel (they're not protected).

find out which sky socket says TV. feed this into whichever input on
your dvdR has RGB as this is your best picture you can get between the
two. now a scart from the other output on the dvd recorder into an rgb
input socket on the tv. the other scart from the sky box will say vcr
or whatever and you can use that for your direct tv connection.
I am not sure if you have to tell your dvdR that you are using RGB
input, it's a while since I have set mine up.

The RF thing is just for your aerial and will only affect the stuff
you record from the tuner in your dvdr.

If this doesn't work then can I suggest you try either
uk.media.tv.sky
or
uk.tech.tv.sky
as they often get this sort of enquiry.

BTW, your scart leads have all the pins?
