Call the police, it's worse than I thought! Werner Heisenberg I used to be uncertain on principle but now I am just undecided. |

I don't have to press any 'red button' to watch ITV HD on my satellite receiver, and can record it like any other service from that receiver. Not that I've bothered to. What type of satellite receiver are you using? I have a Freesat box: Humax Foxsat HDR. In Freesat mode this has only one HD channel in the EPG table and channel list - BBC HD. ITV HD is not listed as a selectable channel. To watch ITV HD I have to select ITV1 London rather than than UTV, the normal channel for my postcode. When a programme in HD starts I need to press the red button to switch from SD to HD. To record a programme from ITV HD I need, again, to select ITV1 London in the EPG, move the highlighting to the programme I want to record and press OK. I am then given the choice to record in SD or HD. The only indication that an ITV programme is available in HD is at the top of the EPG screen when an HD programme is highlighted. If I switch the box to non-Freesat mode additional HD channels are listed, some scrambled. ITV HD is not in the list. In another thread someone gave some technical information about why the channel carrying ITV HD is not listable as a normal channel. |
