Just about any kind of un-insualted wire will work. I made one using
wire out of pieces of romex left laying around a job site.
This antenna is mostly for UHF reception. With some channels now
going to upper VHF it may not be suitable for some areas.

You don't need a clothes hanger!
Monster has a new 4 gauge platinum plated 36.4928384" trapezoidal/elliptical
unit.
It's diagonal aperture wavelength spectrum is exactly .00000000000001 of the
distance from the earth to the sun.
It is modestly priced at $1098

That's pretty much the same one I was talking about in another thread.
The one I saw had a plywood-and-foil reflector behind it, thus improving
the directionality and therefore the gain.

Me, and anyone who uses any of the cleaners in my area. They return the
cleaned clothes on hangars. Wire hangers. I have a closet full of them.

Does that convert into hectares per fortnight?

No, furlongs per hogshead.

We've got plenty.

My suspicion is that, left in a closet, they breed.

So it's a Channel Master 4221 - home made. Outside of $36, why bother?

How sad.

If you have to ask, you'd never understand.

I subscribe to cable and get some local stations with the TV.
The other stations would be nice, but there is only one place to plug
the CATV connection. It is not worth getting a splitter box.

Have many people here built one of these? If so, how well did it work
and how close are you to the broadcast towers?

Thanks!

That was a cool video. I think I might try building one of my own.
So far the best results I've gotten on different tv''s throughout the
house are with old rabbit ears attached to a 300-to-75ohm transformer
plugged into the back of the zenith dtt901 converters.
