If yes,,, does anyone make good SMALL 1080p sets? I've got two LG HD monitor tv's (needs Freeview or satelitte receiver connected to get tv). The picture is stunning,I've got a FreeVIEW and a FreeSAT receiver connected and my PC as well. They cost just under £200 delivered from Saverstore .com. 720p but picture looks like 1080p.Only 1 HDMI con though but 2 scarts. HD reception is exceptional. Still need to know if 1080p is best in my usage scenario |

I have it set to 1680x1050 on an HDMI-DVI cable from a Radeon video card. VGA did work but not as well. The Vizio has to be on and set to HDMI before booting the PC, otherwise the Radeon doesn't recognize it. Likewise it stops working after being switched to TV. "Lock Web Items" in the XP display setup makes the background image fill the screen, don't ask me why. At arm's length I see quite a difference between 1080 and 720. In the store the Vizio's picture quality was about as good as the larger sets. Jim Wilkins |

Some TVs have "universal" power supplies that allow the TV to be used on different power systems some don't. -- Bill R. e-mail address disguised to reduce spam |

Given the use as a computer monitor wouldn't I want a
1080p set as well to get the best use as computer monitor? What resolution do you currently use on your monitor, and what can your video card supply? If your computer is newer, you probably do want an 1920x1080 monitor. Be warned, some TVs do not support full resolution through the VGA connector. To be sure you get full resolution, count using a PC video card with an HDMI output. If this isn't available, check the TV manual before you buy for the maximum supported PC resolution. |

I have both (T240HD and the T260HD) and they suit my needs perfectly. Samsung also sells the T200HD and T220HD which are the same except with a 1680x1050 resolution. I found the opposite, the diffence in tv progs (HD) was much more pronounced on my 22" set as opposed to my 42" and yet my 22" is only 720p and the 42" is 1080p.....work that out!....very strange. |
