My question is NOT abt that.... instead I want to know if 720p will make for good PC monitor? Or if better to get 1080p unit Christ, just get a 22" monitor and put a tuner in the PC. $250 max. If you shop around you can do it for less than $200. -- Want the ultimate in free OTA SD/HDTV Recorder? http://mythtv.org My Tivo Experience http://wesnewell.no-ip.com/tivo.htm Tivo HD/S3 compared http://wesnewell.no-ip.com/mythtivo.htm AMD cpu help http://wesnewell.no-ip.com/cpu.php |

It sounds like you are kind of new at this. Chip I'd REALLY love your attempt to say how the above is wrong. -- Gareth. that fly...... is your magic wand.... |

Yeah I may have to... dunno Id really like to use a TV tho as might be handy at times to just have the TV only on and using its built in tuner The 22" LG I mentioned earlier has another model with a digital tuner integral.I'm talking about the UK though,I don't know if the digi tuner will work in the States. Does anyone know if it will? (out of interest). Here's the link to the model with built in freeVIEW. It also has a 3 yr guarantee. http://www.saverstore.com/productinf...2&rstrat=12730 |

I have it set to 1680x1050 on an HDMI-DVI cable from a Radeon video card. VGA did work but not as well. The Vizio has to be on and set to HDMI before booting the PC, otherwise the Radeon doesn't recognize it. Likewise it stops working after being switched to TV. "Lock Web Items" in the XP display setup makes the background image fill the screen, don't ask me why. At arm's length I see quite a difference between 1080 and 720. In the store the Vizio's picture quality was about as good as the larger sets. Jim Wilkins |

I recently posted this: Their new 22" just got a near-rave review in the U.S. mag, "PC Magazine." http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2333556,00.asp I keep an eye on such things & Ive never seen a 22 or 23" HDTV that was 1080p IIRC. Cant even recall a 26", & there are few 32". |

Some TVs have "universal" power supplies that allow the TV to be used on different power systems some don't. -- Bill R. e-mail address disguised to reduce spam |
