Now £499.95 -- Yes, but note non for on-line order and delivery it is a store only item, suggesting to me only that price if any left in your local store. £649 was a good price so if anyone fancies one get to the store quick, or phone and get your name on one. -- Regards, David Please reply to News Group |

"charles" wrote in message ... He can if he likes. The founder was called Henry Curry. but he founded a bicycle shop .... Interestingly, a lot of the TV shops started off as bike shops. Barker and Wigfalls of Doncaster still sold bikes alongside the tellys right until they closed a couple of years ago. That was a shock as well, for the trade locally. I think virtually everyone in the trade in Donny had some connection with them. Another of the pillars of the local TV trade going under. Bill |

Do you, I got one of then 26" TVs from Lidls 3 years ago for £140, Inside it has a Sony tube. Mate has the same TV but with a BUSH badge on the front he paid £300 for it. The lidl CRT TV's were made by Vestel, Turkey. Many, many "manufacturers" have bought in from Vestel including Toshiba, Hitachi, Sanyo, JVC and the usual Bush, Alba, Goodmans, and dozens of "unknown" names. Actually the performance can be quite good, perhaps the reliability less so. But they have never had Sony tubes. Sony made Trinitron tubes for their own sets only. In some ways I agree that you dont always get what you pay for but there is usually a down-side to most low price brands unless you are sure what is inside |
