I think it's on Sky, not Freesat.

Yes it's FTV using Sky's encryption system. Most of the time it's
just SD C4 upconverted to HD, but even that looks ten times better
than SD C4 as seen via DTT or D-Sat, because of course the bit rate
is 10-15 Mb/s MPEG4, rather than 3 Mb/s MPEG 2.

It gets more complicated then the HD story, wonder if it will get
worse.
I'll blame the Government for it, they seem to mess all things up
these days.

I blame religious nutters!

One in the same thing recently - Tony Blair thought he was God whilst in
power and Gordon Brown believes he can rebuild the world in six days (he
will have a rest tomorrow)

Or is it my new Panasonic Freesat TV set?
I understand they do not do a separate channel as the BBC do 108 HD, but
some ITV programmes might be in HD at same time as SD on 103. ITV web

site
not very helpful, could not find any indication in Radio Times, I

understand
I have to press Red button but how do I know when to?

Eurobird 9 has HBO HD (with english audio) up FTA :P .. it does seem to go
lock'd and FTA but eh...
If you are able to pick up the euro/astra combos and eb9 and possibly one or
two others (getting nasty with dishes outside ur house) then you can get
about 9 HD stations atm..

I don't have FreeSat so access ITV HD via a channel number - same as BBC
HD. And there's very little on there - usually either a black screen or a
caption saying 'this service not available' So nothing like the BBC HD
service. It does work though - I watched The Bill HD episodes on it.
Think they were trailing something coming up this weekend the other day.

Which sat. box are you using to get the ITV HD. The Comag SL100 HD I
tried wouldn't pick it up? Or I entered the wrong search parameters!

ITV HD broadcasts with non standard parameters, have a read of this thread:-

I was wondering if any other products are currently available that
have been cajoled or manufactured to recieve ITV HD.
The lack of a Freesat EPG does not bother me.

The Humax HDCI-2000 can be, but AIUI you need to edit the receive parameters
via its RS232 interface.

MVision HD-200 bought from CPC. The ITV HD stream info page on it says
11428H. It appeared as an unnamed stream - but can't remember the number
that was - I've renamed it here.
