Xfactor screaming and loud music

Why do we not have people at the ITV who know how to adjust sound levels
and use limiters? is this a new breed of helpless employee that doesn't
know what
to do in the real world after getting some qualifications!

Watch xfactor and all you hear is screaming levels louder than voice levels
running
in to distortion. Also the voice of the singers is half of the backing
music. I noticed
a few times that Eoghan didn't appear to be singing live. He was claping
and hitting
the mic, but the noise was not picked up. He was also singing with it away
from his
mouth and the levels never changed.

Was anyone actually singing live?

I have stopped watching the program because of the screaming audience.
No doubt they are told when to scream.

The visual overkill is also too much for me.

Do you actually know what a limiter is and how it works?

Helpless employees for hapless viewers?

Often better if completely swamped by the track.

That would be the 'limiters' then.

Are any of them actually live?

Other computers watch it to inflate the viewer stats.
