HD gaming and burn-in
Wow!
Up until my recent subscription to this newsgroup, I thought burn-in was reserved for gaming only. What an eye opener to find that watching movies can also cause this problem. Are there any technologies that mitigate burn-in? Are DLP's or conventional CRT's immune? Does anyone have information on LCOS and how that technology would fare as a gaming monitor? In short: I watch movies and play games. A lot. What should I avoid to prevent a several thousand dollar investment from being ruined in short order? I figure I can spend up to about $3000 tops. |

Just make sure your contrast and brightness are turned down below %50.

On a recent visit to the airport I noticed NEC panels that I take to be LCD
with the airline logo BURNED into the screen. These where not huge screens and appeared to be 21 " LCD reather then plasma. I was shocked as I thought LCD where immune.
