Selkirk Analog Switchoff -- when does five move from Multiplex A?

The Selkirk transmitter and its *11 relays*, serving Scottish Borders
starts switchover on 6 November 2008 and the process will be complete on
20 November 2008.

The number of broadcast channels at each of the relays will be reduced
from 4 analog to three digital, carrying the multiplexes PSB-1 (Multiplex
A), PSB-2 (Multiplex B) and PSB-3 (Multiplex 2).

Presumably these multiplexes will all be 64-QAM from launch?

(Which begs the question is Whitehaven currently all 64-QAM?)

Has the list of stations carried on each of these multiplexes
been finally determined, and will `five' be appearing on Multiplex PSB-1
or PSB-2?

And when do the distinctly different PSB-1, PSB-2, PSB-3 multiplexes
actually start getting distributed?

If on B, will it then re-appear on PSB-1 when the great mulitplex
station shuffle occurs with the clearing of Multiplex PSB-2 for DVB-t2
MPEG4, sometime in late 2009?

No, Whitehaven is currently relaying Caldbeck's existing Muxes 1 and B
(16 QAM) and Mux 2 (64 QAM), plus a special temporary mux that only
contains C5. When Caldbeck itself has DSO, (June 2008) presumably it
will adopt the new PSB/COM Mux structure, Whitehaven will follow suit,
and the special C5 mux from there will cease ?

The answer is an apple and a spanner in whipped cream right?

Its surreal.

On a related note, does anyone have snapshots of Selkirk's analogue
pre-closedown captions?

That looks like a recreation - the programme looks new, so would have
been shown in low-def 14x9, and the caption itself is beyond the
safety areas :)

Well, that would not be the first time that the BBC have lied/misled
people in presenting something which was not the "real" deal.
