I've got a zone 1 minidish to put up, but it needs assembling and I
have no instructions. Is there any website with assembly instructions? Marky P. |

It would be hard to get the assembly wrong. The only thing that might throw you is it will appear to be missing one bolt and one nut. The manufacturer doesn't seem to think it's necessary to include / install this additional nut & bolt, but I do so I always add one myself. |

What I've done is put the two bolts on the wall fixing and the one bolt on the back of the dish where the tilt gauge is. Is that right? Also, is a single output LNB ok for Freesat HD? I heard Sky uses two feeds for HD, but what about Freesat? Marky P. |

Just one bolt on the elevation (vertical) adjustment and two on the horizontal adjustment. Seems a bit silly to me as it tends to wobble quite a bit with just one bolt. You only need one LNB feed for high definition, but as with Sky HD the two feeds are required because it's a twin tuner PVR. One feed for each tuner. There aren't any twin tuner PVRs released for Freesat yet, so for your normal HD box one LNB feed will be fine. Might be an idea to fit a twin / quad and run an extra cable for when the Freesat PVRs do come out though. |

A dual will be required for any PVR, which may not be available until next year. A quad may easier or cheaper to source than a dual. You may want to fit a quad if you are having boxes in more than one room. If you are thinking of buying a Freesat HD branded box be aware that the Humax box has got serious lip sync problems on some HD broadcasts (mainly when the audio track is in Digital Dolby 5.1 surround sound). Bush, Goodmans and Grundig are all part of the Alba group and the their SD boxes have the same electronics despite having different prices. -- Alan news2006 {at} amac {dot} f2s {dot} com |

Incidentally, the Freesat regional channels problem has been fixed. Ditto the FoxSat "soft picture" issue. |

The link given doesn't give any information on the PVR. and http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...=842698&page=6 (post # 142) Again just someone speculating that there may be some news and as it hasn't been posted it hasn't happened. Humax are slow to put info on their site - info about the last software update only appeared on their website a week or so AFTER the event. Humax posted the information on the last OTA upgrade on the Friday before the update on the Monday morning. Incidentally, the Freesat regional channels problem has been fixed. So does you box show all the available ITV regions? Ditto the FoxSat "soft picture" issue. The Humax representative stated that nothing had been done to fix the poor picture quality. What they did do was to give more options on the HDMI interface which for some people means that the TV does the up-scaling rather than the Humax box. -- Alan news2006 {at} amac {dot} f2s {dot} com |
