"Marky P" wrote in message ... I have never assembled a minidish (or any sat dish) before. Anyway, after a tiny bit of perserverance, I've worked it out. It wasn't that hard after all. There you are then. This isn't the nanny state you know. Stand on your own two feet, get on your bicycle, and you'll figure it out. Bill |

Also, is a single output LNB ok for Freesat HD? I heard Sky uses two feeds for HD, but what about Freesat? A single LNB is OK for the current crop of Freesat boxes SD and HD. A dual will be required for any PVR, which may not be available until next year. A quad may easier or cheaper to source than a dual. You may want to fit a quad if you are having boxes in more than one room. If you are thinking of buying a Freesat HD branded box be aware that the Humax box has got serious lip sync problems on some HD broadcasts (mainly when the audio track is in Digital Dolby 5.1 surround sound). Bush, Goodmans and Grundig are all part of the Alba group and the their SD boxes have the same electronics despite having different prices. It is reported elsewhere that Humax will be releasing a fix for their lip sync problem within the next three weeks. That was reported on a web site that said there were no problems with regional channels on Freesat and the Freesat PVR should be available in the shops now. There is nothing on the Humax site saying what will be fixed and when. It wasn't reported by the website - it was provided by someone contributing to the forum on the website. See also this from the digispy forum regarding an update on the sync fix, and news of the PVR: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...6#post25596126 (post #4), and http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...=842698&page=6 (post # 142) Humax are slow to put info on their site - info about the last software update only appeared on their website a week or so AFTER the event. Incidentally, the Freesat regional channels problem has been fixed. Ditto the FoxSat "soft picture" issue. |
