Can I get a converter for SVHS to PS2 (Mini Din 6 pin)?

Anyone know if I can get a converter plug or lead that''ll enable me
to feed S Video plug from CCTV unit into a modulator that has PS2
socket only, aka Mini Din 6 pin.

Searching web have found nothing yet in UK :(

You should fine the plugs and sockets at a decent component suppliers. eg.
Rapid Electronics, RS Electronics, Farnell, etc.. I know Rapid have them
(my choice as the trade counter is within cycling range).

I'm sure I've read somewhere that a standard 4 pin plug will fit a 6 pin
socket.

RS components are generally not the cheapest (far from it) but a quick
search reveals that they have several bit with ps/2 connectors

More to the point, are the signals actually compatible?

They are compatible of a sort!
In subject line you enquire about "SVHS" which is actually a hi-res version
of the VHS format, but your actual question is about S-Video!
S-Video only carries a video signal as luma/chroma, it doesn't carry an
audio signal.
You could make up your own custom interconnect, the luma and croma (Y/C)
connections are identical and the mini 6 pin will accept.
As it's a CCTV unit to a "PS2" socket - but you don't specify what the unit
is, and as it is CCTV, so it's doubtful you want the audio connections, then
buy a an S-video cable and a bi-directional 6-pin (total a tenner from
Maplins)
chop off the ends make the Y/C connection to the component video feed
(yellow)
and thats the job done.

Tks for replies guys.
The modulator enables the feed from the camera control box
to be UHF modulated, and then the signal is passed to the coax cable
on a TV spare channel; modulator allows adjustment.
This allows it to be seen on other TV's in house receiving coax
signals from roof.

I thought S Video & SVHS was same thing these days, and I'm aware
SVideo
doesnt carry audio signal; I was always curious as to why that was, as
assumed there'd be a spare lead in plug?

Perhaps not.

However can live without, though the old CCTV cameras did have one
strand of the 5 way cable dedicated to audiom but clearly not
compatible with S Video set up.
