Sony DVI-HDTV Strange connector
I'm trying to setup a HTPC for my parents who have a
Sony KP-51WS500 HD television. The tv has a DVI input, but it does not look like a completely standard DVI plug. The description is relayed from my dad over the phone, but apparently the plug looks like: 3 rows of standard DVI pins as in DVI-I dual link, then 2 stacked vertical slots (we think they are dummy inactive plugs), then a horizontal slot. He insists it doesn't look like the standard DVI-I, DVI-D, or even DVI-A plug, tho its possible one of them might fit. Qestion is does anyone know more information about this plug, and then how if anyway can it be used from a standard PC video card with both VGA and DVI-I outputs? The fallback is to use a component input but all are currently used, plus its more expensive to buy a vga-component converter; I've done this on my HDTV so I'm familiar with this approach. Many thanks to who ever can help me out. |
