Freesat vs FTA digital satellite

If not, what are the differences between FTA digital satellite and
Freesat apart from HDTV support on Freesat?

No Five, FiveUS, FiveR, Virgin 1, Sky 3, The Hits, TMF on Freesat.

Actually you don't get Virgin 1 or The Hits or TMF on the FTV channels
on a Sky Digibox / "Freesat from Sky" or a FTA digital receiver, they
are encrypted pay Sky subscription channels via Satellite, but they are
free on Freeview (via Aerial not Satellite).

There are indeed many other free music channels FTA.

||| I agree, however, DigitalSpy are currently discussing this and
||| Humax are investigating.

|| The person who told me of this Humax thing, also told me it is usual
|| for Humax other product boxes to be like this.
|| So maybe Humax will think it ok after their investigation.

I have a Humax 9200 freeview PVR connected to a [recently acquired] 37 inch
Philips LCD TV and have to say that on playback the picture quality is
excellent in both detail and brightness, I can't wait to get it connected to
a HD source which will be the Humax Freesat receiver.

As an aside, although I've been dubious about the reliability of some
Philips products in the past, for a relatively cheap large screen lower spec
1366 x 768p LCD TV, performance wise I can thoroughly recommend the
37PFL5522D as representing first class value for money, I saw it being
demonstrated in a Makro store [with what must have been a HD video source of
a car chase, always a better subject than the usual cartoons] and compared
to the demonstrations on the majority of other receivers the picture quality
stood out a mile.

My only real complaint would be the disappointing sound, especially as there
is no way of connecting external speakers to the internal amplifier.. for
anyone with a Makro card it's now on sale @ £399 + vat.

Some customer reviews here.
