Depends on the school I would have thought? People the world over like to
segregate themselves into groups of other like minded people who share
common ambitions goals and perspectives on life - they often feel more at
ease that way. That manifests itself in a multitude of ways from someone
wanting to join a gold club, or have their kids go to a particular church

faiths and beliefs, and could be ideal citizens if only they could read

be at odds with other sub-groups.


I think that was partly the point I was making - they will become
members of sub groups regardless of the schooling. People will always
find something to differentiate themselves by and hence be "at odds"
with others be it religion, race, social class, intelligence, affluence
or any number of other things.

Yes but if kids form friendships with kids of other races when they are too
young to worry about the whole race issue as seen through adult eyes, it is
much less likely that they will be coerced into becoming racists and
racially-motivated terrorists.
