Given how many politicians come out of there, I'd think that's rather self-evident. Excellent point! Interesting connexion with an observation in the Oxford Student article -- QUOTE Cameron was member of the club at a time when it was de rigeur to engage in the ‘man of the people’ pursuits of washing down “a cocktail of drugs with an honest, working class box of chips and a five pound bottle of wine”. What's more I think religion shoud not be an Depends on the school I would have thought? People the world over like to segregate themselves into groups of other like minded people who share common ambitions goals and perspectives on life - they often feel more at ease that way. That manifests itself in a multitude of ways from someone wanting to join a gold club, or have their kids go to a particular church school etc. Schools should serve society first and individual parents second. Schools They should serve the education of their pupils first! After many years of political meddling in education we have plenty of school leavers who are supposedly tolerant, racially aware, and have knowledge of other faiths and beliefs, and could be ideal citizens if only they could read or write. I don't see the purpose of education to turn out the next generation of the proletariat, unquestioning, compliant, and "integrated". are supposed to turn out good citizens not members of sub-groups that might be at odds with other sub-groups. I think that was partly the point I was making - they will become members of sub groups regardless of the schooling. People will always find something to differentiate themselves by and hence be "at odds" with others be it religion, race, social class, intelligence, affluence or any number of other things. -- Cheers, John. /================================================== ===============\ | Internode Ltd - http://www.internode.co.uk | |-----------------------------------------------------------------| | John Rumm - john(at)internode(dot)co(dot)uk | \================================================= ================/ |

Yes but if kids form friendships with kids of other races when they are too young to worry about the whole race issue as seen through adult eyes, it is much less likely that they will be coerced into becoming racists and racially-motivated terrorists.
