Digital TV converters and remote controls

I have over the air tv. Radio Shack has convert boxes for $60.00. The box
said nothing about a remote control, and the employees couldnt explain it
either.

I assumed these devices are external tuners, and I would need a new remote
control to tune the device I purchased. How does this work?

RS shows two converters on their Web site; both have their own remotes
which claim to be "universal."

If these are the same models offered in the store, there's your answer.

There's a lot that RS employees cannot explain.

I presume a box that has no ability for a remote control tuner could still
qualify under the converter box coupon program. I'm not aware that a remote
control is a requirement for coupon qualification. This is a free country
and business have the right to screw their customers with cheap products.

Actually, a remote control, with batteries included, is a requirement
for coupon qualification.

Shopping at Walmart is a painful testament to that.

But, apparently, I have been corrected regarding the remote control thing.
Be sure Wally includes one in the converters he sells.
