Half price Sky sports or movies
Sky have a new offer out for punters with a Sky+ box and only the
minimum sub. Upgrade to Sky sports or Sky Movies for half the price, so £9 extra, or both for £12.50 extra. Not quite the 6 months half price deal of old, but nice to know they are doing offers again. |

My £18.00 sub is more than enough for me, when I want to watch movies I put a DVD on. |

I took up the sports offer as a birthday present to myself though - cricket season just starting. I can leave that on in the background whilst playing cars or whatever with the kids. |

And when I want to watch movies I tune to Sky Movies and usually find something for myself. If there are craps on Sky Premiere at the moment you can surely find pearls on Sky Classic instead. I've got no time to choose and order DVDs and put them on a DVD later. On the other hand - Sky Movies delivered me few titles which I would never picked up from the dvd library. I am really glad that I saw them. Sky Movies gave me this opportunity to see them. Go for this bargain. |

The other problem is that Sky won't automatically downgrade after the three months, meaning that unless you make the call, you'll end up paying the full sub price for Movies from month four. Sky work on the assumption that you wil forget to ring or decide to keep Movies after the time's up. No thanks. |

My mate told me to use a prepaid Visa voucher to get a three month sub to porn sites. Download all the stuff that you can in the three months. (I er...I mean 'he' recommends external HDD's by the way!) Then when they go looking for more money after the three months, the voucher has expired! |

Not that I would ever consider doing such a thing, you understand. It's purely a hypothetical question. -- Enzo I wear the cheese. It does not wear me. |

You can only watch/backup what's in the Sky+ HDD if you currently subscribe to the channel from whence it came. So you could record a movie at any time, but not view it unless you had a sub to that channel when you want to watch it. The check against your right to view the channel only comes when you try to watch it - you can record anything at any time. Does that make sense? |
