New 37" LCD vs. Used 50" Plasma
Folks, for ~$800 or a little less than the price of a new
37" HD-LCD, I've been offered a relative's 1-year old 50" Maxent Plasma (MX-5020HPM). The lack of a tuner isn't an issue (we use a cable STB). I know that Maxent is an off-brand and and got poor marks from C-Net, but 50"... damn! What to do? Ant thoughts? |

Have a look at the specs on that thing. No tuners. 500W. Out of warranty now. Run. http://reviews.cnet.com/flat-panel-t...-32126745.html I paid $599 for my 37" Envision LCD HDTV at staples. I'm more than happy with it. -- Want the ultimate in free OTA SD/HDTV Recorder? http://mythtv.org My Tivo Experience http://wesnewell.no-ip.com/tivo.htm Tivo HD/S3 compared http://wesnewell.no-ip.com/mythtivo.htm AMD cpu help http://wesnewell.no-ip.com/cpu.php |
