New 37" LCD vs. Used 50" Plasma

Folks, for ~$800 or a little less than the price of a new
37" HD-LCD, I've been offered a relative's 1-year old
50" Maxent Plasma (MX-5020HPM). The lack of a
tuner isn't an issue (we use a cable STB). I know that
Maxent is an off-brand and and got poor marks from
C-Net, but 50"... damn! What to do? Ant thoughts?

Have a look at the specs on that thing. No tuners. 500W. Out of warranty
now. Run.

I paid $599 for my 37" Envision LCD HDTV at staples. I'm more than happy
with it.
